He jumped with the Pathfinders in the 101st Airborne Division under the command of Captain Fred Hamill. He landed in the town of Neuville. He informed Hill and Miller that the Axis were jamming the American Radio lines. He also was sent to show Miller a flanking route. He and the rest of the men later encountered a German Lieutenant and his staff and prepared to exchange fire, when the Germans were mowed down by Hamill, Jimmy T., and a Lieutenant.
